Moon Apes are a species of giant ape with scales that act as body armor. One such beast was put under Creature King's mind control. During a battle, it attempted to eat Batman when a missile salvo failed to damage it. Batman countered by throwing several sleeping gas capsules into the Moon Ape's mouth. The Moon Ape quickly fell asleep.
