When Jonah Hex was teleported to the present by Mongul, he was recruited to capture more warriors for combat on War World. Hex obliged and was given a robot horse. The two quickly bonded and the horse responded to Hex' commands. In battle, it is strong enough to survive a direct hit from Steppenwolf's electric axe and to drag a bound Mongal across the planet.
