Through a combination of science and technology, Ra's Al-Ghul was able to recreate prehistoric giant carnivorous plants. He decided to utilize them to help restore paradise on Earth by implanting them on every city and let them rampage and destroy them. To expedite the process, they could be instantly grown with the Chlorocannon. However, they were only active in Coast City and were assumed to be rooted out by the Justice League of America.
