Takeo is a member of the Yakuza mob in Japan. Takeo is infamous for wanting the Soultaker katana sword for himself. After hearing about its location from a young girl, Takeo traveled to Master Takahiro's dojo and demanded it. When Takahiro refused, Takeo killed him. Takeo failed to get the sword, which was taken by the young girl, Tatsu Yamashiro.
Years later, Yamashiro, now Katana, relived this day as a nightmare brought on by Psycho Pirate. Pirate posed as Takeo and manipulated Katana into giving into her anger and feeding him power. However, Batman intervened and convinced her to stand down.
