Real Identity: Sergeant Clifford Zmeck

Sergeant Zmeck is a certified psychopath and was court martialed by the U.S. Air Force on charges of murder. He was given a life sentence. However, he was given a pardon in exchange for participating in Project Atom. The Project needed another test subject when Captain Atom was missing in action. In the Major Force Project, Zmeck was bonded to a triple layer of alien metal and blasted into the quantum field with an H-Bomb. Zmeck was dubbed Major Force and introduced as a government-sanctioned hero. However, his homicidal tendancies led the Major to evil.
Major Force became a nemesis of Captain Atom. Some years later, Major Force invaded the Pentagon in search of the Quantum Vacuum. Near Tunnel 51, Force battled Batman, Aquaman, Martian Manhunter, and Captain Atom. Due to Atom's arrogance, Force stumbled upon the Vacuum and used it to absorb the hero's powers. Major Force flew off and attacked a nearby power plant. He then marched on the White House. Having neutralized the Justice League International, only the powerless Captain Atom was left. He drove his jet right into Major Force. The explosion was enough to overload the Vacuum. With his powers back, Captain Atom defeated Major Force.
