No. 732-33 in Batman's crime files, George "Boss" Dyke was a Gotham mobster with a specialty in crimes of violence and had a trademark of stealing dollar bills in large denominations only. Anything under $1000 was ignored by Dyke. Before his final arrest, he made a deal with Dr. Willard to have his brain transplanted in a giant gorilla in exchange for the fortune he planned on stealing afterward. After being executed at Stonegate Penitentiary, Dyke's body was given to his henchman per his last request. Willard preserved his brain with a stimulant and performed his daring surgery. Gorilla Boss awoke and issued his true plan, to switch his brain into Batman's body! After stealing a total of a $1 million, Gorilla Boss kidnapped Batman. During the transplant preparation, Batman awoke and switched places with Dr. Willard to fool Boss into thinking he was betrayed. Gorilla Boss and Willard were arrested and taken into custody.
Gorilla Boss formed the organization Gorillas and Apes Seizing Power (G.A.S.P.) with Gorilla Grodd and Monsieur Mallah in an effort to use their collective intellectual superiority and take over the world. Gorilla Boss' knowledge of Gotham's rackets would allow G.A.S.P. to easily take the city on their maiden campaign. They met resistance from Batman, Detective Chimp, B'Wana Beast, and Vixen. After the power of a rhinoceros failed, Vixen used that of an ant's to defeat Boss.
