Amazo is a highly advanced cybernetic android built by a rogue scientist named Professor Anthony Ivo, a man obsessed with gaining immortality. Special absorption cells throughout Amazo's body would replicate special abilities of any super powered beings in the immediate proximity. After an incident with the Justice League, Ivo sent the android to destroy them. Much like a human, Amazo can be stunned by attacks on the senses. The League defeated it by negating its powers and crash its systems. Over the years, it has been reactivated and even once served as umpire in a baseball game between Justice League International and the Legion of Doom. He clearly favored the Legion but overturned a ruling when Wonder Woman bound him with the Lasso of Truth.
