On the planet Colu, the Computer Tyrants created an artificial intelligence in the form of a computer mind. It was more advanced than anything on Colu. This intelligence began to replicate and evolved until it became Colu's most dominant life form and enslaved everyone. However, one planet wasn't enough. The AI created a human-like machine, technically more advanced than itself, to expand its empire. The machine was named Brainiac. Brainiac went from planet to planet nad utilized Coluan technology to miniturize cities and its populations for later study. One such city was the city of Kandor from Krypton.
This practice continued for years. Then the AI was destroyed. Undaunted, Brainiac decided to fulfill its purpose and absorb all of the knowledge in the universe. It landed on Earth where it met its match, Superman. It somehow survived and a piece was embedded in a meteor. Years later, the meteor landed back on Earth. Superman quickly confronts it and wins with his freeze breath. Lex Luthor scavenges a piece of Brainiac and makes it an offer. In exchange for taking a fall and making Luthor a hero, Brainiac gets a new body.
Utilizing Luthor's satellite technology and Kryptonite Beam, Brainiac defeated Superman and betrayed Luthor. However, Superman returns and destroys Brainiac once and for all.
