Beast Boy decided to prove to the other Teen Titans he could be a solo superhero. He rebranded himself Lone Wolf and relocated to San Perez somewhere on the west coast. He infiltrated the San Perez Bank during a robbery, morphed into an eagle, and tackled one member of the Tadpole Gang into an office. Mister Toad, the leader of the gang, ordered the remaining four to check out what happened. They marched into the office. One bent down to pet an adorable cat but it pounced. The cat turned into a snake, wrapped around a second Tadpole, and made him punch himself out. The remaining two took a swing but missed. Now a large python, it grabbed one and slammed him repeatedly up and down. The last Tadpole tried to run away but was dragged back in. Toad fired his cannon at the office.
Beast Boy waved and claimed he was new in town and asked Toad if he could help set up a checking account. Toad prepared to fire again but a tentacle suddenly snagged it out of his hands. Toad asked him who he was as his form changed again. Mickie recognized him as Beast Boy from the Teen Titans. The other hostages didn't know who he was but instantly knew who Raven was when Mickie revealed her Teen Titans T-shirt. Beast Boy revealed the Titans were on hiatus and he was working solo now under a new codename, Lone Wolf. Toad calmed down and shot his tongue out. A gunk was stuck to Beast Boy's face. While he tried to get it off, Toad made an exit in the floor and tried to leave with several of the duffel bags of money. Beast Boy turned into a gorilla and grabbed one of the bags. Toad demanded he let go. Beast Boy managed to pull the bag up through the hole. Toad soon landed on the bag. At the same time, Commissioner Wolfman and several officers kicked the doors open. Beast Boy dropped the bag and Toad and identified himself as Beast Boy from the Teen Titans. Mickie added he was the "silly one" to his chagrin.
Beast Boy went to a coin op laundromat to wash Mister Toad's gunk off his suit. He thought the "super" setting was for superheroes and picked it. All of a sudden he was teleported to a cavern. The Black Witch made her presence known. She quickly noticed he was in his underwear. Beast Boy explained it was laundry day. Once she identified herself and gloated, he guessed she was from Salem. She paused and corrected him that she was from Wisconsin. He asked if she was a friend of Raven's. She realized he didn't remember her. He claimed he did and described her having a pointy hat and that cat next to her. She wasn't buying it and got annoyed, describing the massive battle where she nearly defeated the Teen Titans but they beat her at the last minute. He countered that was kind of how it always went. She predicted it wouldn't this time and told him to prepare for annihilation. She levitated and hurled a fireball of magic at him. He ducked but the tip of his hair was burnt. He spotted her wand, turned into a frog, and fired his tongue at it then banged it and teleported into a forest.
Black Witch and her cat demanded it back. Beast Boy banged it and teleported again to the San Perez LexMart. Mickie happened to be working a shift and finished stacking watermelons. The Black Witch found Beast Boy and hurled a fireball at him. It hit the melons and they turned to dust. Beast Boy and Black Witch teleported away. Mickie sighed. They teleported all over the city, including the San Perez Museum, briefly before teleporting away and eventually arriving at the top of a lone mountain. Beast Boy was annoyed she kept finding him. She explained since they were one with the wand, they easily trailed Beast Boy. Beast Boy turned into a gorilla and smashed the wand to pieces. The Black Witch and Black Cat were powerless. Beast Boy turned into a bird and flew away, leaving them stranded.
Beast Boy found Elephant Man after he escaped from prison. He charged into LexMart with him, in octopus form, on his face. Mickie was on duty and she clutched the stack of watermelons. They charged past and Elephant Man ran into a column and fell on his back. The melons fell to the floor and burst. The manager told Mickie she would have to clean up after her friend then asked if he knew he was liable for damages. Beast Boy pointed out he was a superhero. Mickie explained the new company policy. Beast Boy admitted he was a bit strapped for cash but knew he had at least three dollars in his wallet. Elephant Man stood up. Mickie tried to tell him. Beast Boy insisted he was looking for money. She told him to look behind him. The manager told all shoppers to run for their lives. They promptly exited the LexMart. Beast Boy vowed to Elephant Man that he was going back to prison whether he liked it or not. The manager cleared his throat then Mickie. Beast Boy understood and asked Elephant Man if they could take the fight outside for liability reasons.
Elephant Man declared prison was too small for him. He hit Beast Boy with a right cross and he flew into a shelf. He turned into a monkey and grabbed the four bottles that fell. Elephant Man tackled him through the shelving into the next aisle and the next and the next. Mickie got an idea and ran to the intercomm room. She told held the manager back with one arm and told Beast Boy to lure Elephant Man to aisle 15. It worked. Beast Bot turned into a gorilla and goaded him into attacking him. Elephant Man took the bait and charged. At the last second, he turned into a fly. Elephant Man slipped on the wet floor and ended up in the freezer. Beast Boy closed the door and Mickie changed the setting. Beast Boy thought that was easy. Elephant Man's tusks went through the door. He claimed no one could stop him. He soon froze. The manager told Mickie she better not have any plans for the night. The store was a wreck. The manager added Beast Boy could pay at checkout. Beast Boy exclaimed he couldn't pay for it all. Mickie got an idea. Beast Boy did all the clean up duties. Mickie came on the intercomm and listed all the aisles that needed to be cleaned up. Beast Boy sarcastically thanked Aquaman aloud.
Beast Boy was about to eat a banana on a rooftop but he saw Killer Moth fly past, heading towards the 196 train. On the train's roof, Killer Moth sliced the hand cuff keeping a scientist and his case together then threw the former off. In eagle form, Beast Boy grabbed the scientist and safely deposited on land then flew to the train. He snatched the case and landed. Moth fired a grapnel at the case then swung it and him around. Moth recovered the case and Beast Boy was gone. He flew with it but paused in the sky when he noticed a green slug on his leg. The slug turned into Beast Boy and he grabbed his leg then turned into an elephant. The motor on Moth's pack died out and they plummeted. Beast Boy came to and saw Killer Moth angrily huffing and puffing. He took one step and was hit by the same train. Beast Boy collapsed and looked at what was casting a green glow inside the case. The scientist and his security detail took the case away. Beast Boy asked if that was he thought it was. The scientist only said that "Mr. Luthor" thanked him for his assistance.
Beast Boy saw Starro's arrival off the coast as the chance to prove to everyone he could make it on his own. He was startled by Mickie being right behind him sitting on top of a car hood. Mickie couldn't pass up the chance to see Beast Boy fight a real supervillain. Beast Boy reminded her he fought loads of real supervillains. She pointed out that wasn't when he was solo. Beast Boy told her his plan A was to eagle dive off the bridge and turn into a fish with sunglasses. She asked why sunglasses. He stated they were cool. She found it a fair point. Beast Boy would then turn into a giant lizard and defeat Starro. She didn't believe he could turn into something that big. He demonstrated but asked her to look away because he couldn't do it if someone was watching. He was only able to change his head and fell on his side. She asked if there was a plan B. Beast Boy told her about using an enormous death ray. She asked if he had one. He told her plan C was to eagle dive off the bridge, turn into a fish with sunglasses, and turn into a gorilla.
Mickie pointed out that was Plan A with a gorilla instead. Beast Boy took refuge in a car and started feeling sorry for himself, admitting he couldn't stop Starro without the other Teen Titans. Mickie admitted he was the strongest or smartest superhero or had the best powers but he could be anything he wanted to be and told him to stop being a baby. He took offense and she pumped him up about being a hero. To their surprise, he turned into a giant lizard. Superman arrived and took out Starro with one hit, to their chagrin. Beast Boy was recruited by Detectives Furst and Young of the San Perez Police Department to go undercover and find out who was organizing the city's rats into a theft ring. In the sewers, Beast Boy was surrounded by the Rat Gang in all directions. Beast Boy claimed he wanted to join the gang because he liked crime. The rat in charge Benny was skeptical and thought he was a snitch. Beast Boy insisted he was an every day rat. Benny questioned why he was green. Beast Boy lied he was from Canada. The rats conversed with each other and believed him.
Benny told Beast Boy if he wanted in, he had to face Lil' Annie first. Beast Boy was tasked with stealing a pizza slice from Lil' Annie's Pizza. Benny claimed it was the best pizza in the city. If he pulled it off, he was in the gang. Beast Boy soon encountered Lil' Annie, the resident cat. Beast Boy sought advice from Detectives Furst and Young over comms. They advised him to stay still and the cat wouldn't detect his movement but then they questioned if that was for a shark. Beast Boy grabbed a pizza cutter and parried Lil' Annie's attacks. Annie sliced up some bags of flour nearby. Beast Boy wanted to transform but Furst and Young advised him against since the rats were watching and it would blow his cover. Annie knocked the cutter away and pinned Beast Boy against a bag. He got an idea and tossed flour around to obscure the rats' view. He transformed into a dog and scared Annie away, transformed back into a rat, and exited with a slice. They went back into the sewers and feasted. Benny told Beast Boy he was one of them. Beast Boy when he was going to meet the big boss. A tune generated by the boss, Pied Piper, placed the rats and even Beast Boy in a hypnotic trance and they marched to Piper's hideout.
Part of Pied Piper's Rat Gang entered the San Perez Museum through the restroom toilets, disabled the security system', took care of the guard, and pillaged the precious gems exhibit and tossed everything down the hole in the floor. Beast Boy was accidentally freed from hypnosis from microphone feedback created by Detectives Furst and Young over comms by mistake as they quarreled about telling Commissioner Wolfman or not about what they were doing. Beast Boy turned into his normal form and tackled Piper. He dropped his flute. Benny was naturally upset to be lied to as he recruited Beast Boy. Beast Boy apologized and suggested getting pizza after he got out of jail. Benny refused to eat pizza again because he would only taste the betrayal. The rat gang formed into a giant hand and beat up Beast Boy. Beast Boy tried to punch the mass in vain. He was enveloped but he turned into a Tyrannosaurus Rex and broke the mass up. He turned to normal and dove towards Piped Piper. The rats dove after him. Beast Boy emerged from the rats with his flute and used it to make the rats grab him. They were all arrested except Benny. He observed from the roof of the museum and vowed it wasn't over.
Beast Boy answered a call from Mickie's cousin and flew to their home in the suburbs. He lost his baseball signed by Green Arrow in a neighbor's property. Beast Boy laughed when he was informed the house was inhabited by ghosts. He headed inside in search of the baseball. He was unaware of the levitating vase following him until it shattered against his head. He soon met the ghost and was slammed around. He turned into a gorilla, grabbed the baseball, and exited from a second floor window. He gave the baseball to the cousin and promptly flew away. Weeks later, Beast Boy was dispatched by the Furst and Young to rescue Commissioner Wolfman from Kobra's clutches. Beast Boy headed to Kobra's West Coast Regional Headquarters, hidden deep inside a mountain resembling a cobra. He turned into a gecko and entered through a vent above the two guards at the front entrance. He turned into a snake and navigated down the shaft. As an octopus he lifted a lid, turned into a spider, and crawled to another vent. He knocked out the two henchmen in the security room playing cards in his gorilla form.
Beast Boy took the elevator to level 18. Karl was on duty. He noticed the elevator was empty and went to investigate. He was grossed out from seeing a worm inside. Beast Boy knocked him out and took his identification card. Wolfman's cell was empty. Karl informed him Wolfman escaped in the morning then he hit the alarm. Four henchmen emerged from the elevator. Beast Boy easily defeated them with some well-timed kicks and throws. He mused he could do that all day. Nine more henchmen arrived. He rescinded his past comment. One of the larger henchmen kicked him into the cell. Beast Boy tried to convince them of a diplomatic solution as he backed up. He fell through the hole behind a Wonder Woman poster plastered on the wall. The henchmen realized that's how Wolfman escaped. They pursued Beast Boy into the plumbing system. Beast Boy admitted to himself he should have spent more time planning his rescue operation. He fell down a pipe. At the base of the drainage pipe, Wolfman took a moment to smell the fresh air. Beast Boy exited the pipe and crashed into Wolfman. They emerged from the water covered in muck. The henchmen got stuck at the pipe's exit. Beast Boy greeted him and announced he came to rescue him. Wolfman groaned.
In the subrubs, Beast Boy climbed a tree to try to get Mickie's cat down but they felt a rumble. Pied Piper, Elephant Man, Mister Toad, and Killer Moth had escaped prison and tracked him down to get revenge. Beast Boy rushed them and was beat up. Mickie threw an acorn at Mister Toad. Elephant Man threw a panel truck at her. At the last second, Beast Boy caught the truck in gorilla form. While Mickie distracted Toad, Beast Boy took on the others. As an octopus, he grabbed Moth and slammed him into the pavement. He charged into Elephant Man as a rhino. He turned into a Tyrannosaurus Rex and roared at the Rat Gang and broke Piper's flute. Toad prepared to blast Mickie but a huge shadow was on top of him. He turned. Still in a dinosaur form, he plugged up Toad's cannon with his tail. It overloaded in Toad's face and he fainted. Benny addressed Beast Boy from atop a tree and vowed the rats of San Perez would have their revenge. Mickie's cat, still stuck in the very tree, appeared and attacked the rat. The villains were turned over to the police. Mickie slipped and referred to Beast Boy by his new codename Lone Wolf, to his delight. She denied it. He howled and admitted he might be the silly one.
