Grundy is a monster truck who manifested a persona like the Batwheels and Legion of Zoom at some point. A nail got stuck on his front left wheel and he was in pain. Bam investigated reports of a monster at the Gotham Docks. He encountered a monster truck named Grundy. Bam was unable to stop Grundy. The Batwheels pursued Grundy to Amusement Mile but they were too late and found all the rides and stands in disarray. Buff felt they should just talk to Grundy but the others weren't listening. Their attempts to stop Grundy continued to fail, including Batwing's net. The Batwheels tried to sneak up on the rampaging Grundy in Gotham Central Park but the strategy didn't work. The Batwheels rushed to the Gotham Art Museum to protect the glass statue displays from the rampaging Grundy. They struggled to keep the statues safe and stop Grundy at the same time. Buff decided to follow his instincts and tried talking to Grundy. He discovered Grundy's nail ailment. Buff was able to pull it out and a patch was applied. Grundy felt better and was happy to have friends. Both sides apologized for the misunderstanding and teamed up to clean everything and put everything back in their rightful place.
Grundy was invited to the Batwheels Friendship Day party at the Batcave by Bam but the other Batwheels got trapped in the Batcave by the Legion of Zoom. Bam made a new team with Kitty, Grundy, Goldie, and Nightbike to save them. Trapped in an ice sphere by Snowy, Grundy got to do one of his slams. During the ambush at Gotham Central Square, Grundy jumped off the roof of the Gotham Art Museum and the rumble caught the Zoomers off guard which allowed Kitty to snag the Force Field Flinger to get it to Bam so he could free the Batwheels.
Bam summoned the Gotham Guardians to the Gotham Docks to help him stop Banebuggy, who got huge from a shipment of Ultra Grow-Gas. Grundy was scared by how big Banebuggy was and got out of his way. Goldie and Nightbike used their tow lines and stripped Banebuggy of his gas tanks and he shrank back down to normal. Grundy claimed his wheels slipped. Kitty played in the spilled gas and got huge. They tried in vain to stop her around the city. Nightbike wished there was a big open space where she couldn't break anything. Bam got an idea and used the T-Rex Robot, done up like a mouse, to lure her to Gotham Stadium. She leaped at the stadium lights and broke it then rode some parked cars like skates. Grundy admitted he ran out of Kitty's way because he never met anyone bigger than him and got scared. They all told him he didn't have to face it alone. Bam got an idea to borrow the Batsignal and use it to play keep away and tire her out. It worked and she went to sleep. The others followed suit. Soon after, she shrank back down to normal size.
Snowy used his ice cannon to make the coolest monster truck rally course in Gotham Stadium for his and Buff's monster truck play date. Buff arrived with Grundy, thinking a three monster play date would be even better. Grundy had never been to a monster truck rally course before and revealed he only played chess. They explained you just rumble around and do awesome monster truck stunts like a leapin' wheelie. Buff demonstrated knocking Snowy's icy rumble pins down. Snowy was impressed by Grundy's rumbling even though the ice course was mostly destroyed. Buff revealed he brought enough things to build a new course. They kept using it as soon as Buff set it up. Once he finally got to do his own stunts, he saw Snowy and Grundy were off playing truck hockey. They suggested he could keep score. Buff felt left out of the fun. Batcomputer alerted Buff to an emergency at Gotham Docks involving Banebuggy stealing Ultra-Growth Gas from a new shipment. He left without saying goodbye.
Snowy and Grundy arrived at Gotham Docks as Buff admitted he couldn't win alone. Grundy explained he heard the rumbling and knew trouble when he heard it. Buff admitted to feeling left out and didn't say goodbye to them at Gotham Stadium. They apologized, too. Grundy vowed to ponder the true meaning of friendship and be better. Banebuggy pushed off away from the Docks. Snowy created an ice ramp and the trio made it to the tanker. Banebuggy rocked the boat to keep them off their game but he fell off himself. However, they realized he was siphoning Growth-Gas from the ship. Banebuggy became even larger and touted himself as a sea monster truck. Buff fired his winch into the control room and hit a lever to get the tanker moving further away. Grundy suggested leapin' wheelies. Snowy created an ice ramp and they stacked on each other then leaped for Banebuggy. They scaled up Banebuggy with their winches then Snowy froze his two tanks. Grundy and Buff pushed them off and Banebuggy shrunk back to his tiny size. He shouted he didn't float. Buff threw a life preserver at him. A seabird perched on him. To add insult to injury, he got seasick, too. Back at the Docks, they hung Banebuggy from a light pole.
