Nightwing was once the original Robin and kept Gotham City safe with Batman. As he got older, he adopted a new name and costume, Nightwing, and fought crime in different cities on his trusty Nightbike. He loves to come back and visit Gotham when he can. On such a return visit, he managed to save Batgirl from slipping into the Gotham Harbor on her bike. They did their secret handshake and hugged then drove to the Batcave. Nightwing and Batcomputer exchanged greetings but he was in awe how much Batman changed the cave since his last visit. Batgirl took him up the elevator to show him the changes done to Wayne Manor. They later deployed and went after Joker and Harley Quinn after they littered the city with banana peels for their big prank. They each activated Anti-Slip Batboots and chased after the pair. Bibi and Nightbike observed how well they worked together and there was no competition between the two. They followed suit and stopped Prank and Jestah. Some peels dropped by the vehicles and slipped up Joker and Harley. Batgirl and Nightwing promptly arrested them.
At some point, Nightwing defeated Mad Hatter and told him, "I'm putting the lid on your crime spree!" He also helped stop Gorilla Grodd from turning everyone into bananas. Batgirl and Nightwing were dispatched to the Gotham Docks to capture Penguin before he got away with a stolen shipment. Nightwing suggested a friendly race to the docks. Nightwing implored Penguin to find a new hobby. Penguin escaped up to his blimp. They fired grapnel lines, scaled a crane, and fired lines up to the blimp. Once they learned Penguin intended to meet up with his Ducky vehicle to gather up the stolen item, they fired grapnels down to the Gotham Point Lighthouse and hid. As Penguin made his way to the lighthouse, they blinded him with the signal light. Batgirl asked him if he was ready for the spotlight. Nightwing liked the line. As they walked him to the police, Penguin explained he just wanted to add rare Crested Kasnian Coots to his collection. Nightwing told him the only birds he would be seeing soon were jailbirds. Batgirl laughed. Penguin insisted he was just a bird lover.
