October 10, 2025: Batman: Knightfall officially announced at The Art Knight panel at New York Comic Con. It will be multi-parts. Part 1: Knightfall is directed by Jeff Wamester and written by Jeremy Adams. Part 1 is currently in production and releases in 2026. Logline included, "When the mysterious behemoth known only as Bane frees Batman's entire Rogues Gallery from Arkham Asylum, the Caped Crusader is pushed to his mental and physical breaking point." April 22, 2026: Jeremy Adams confirms the movie was written years ago and when James Gunn took over DC Studios, production stopped and it looked like Knightfall might be shelved. Due to scheduling, Adams only did the first movie. He saw the movie a couple months ago and calls it "dark," crediting Rick Morales and his crew for the art style taking cues from the 1990s like the design of the Batmobile and the pointed shoulder look for Batman. In the wake of Jason Todd's death, Batman doesn't want to rely on anyone and the main thrust of the story is Bane exploits that weak point. The sub-plot will be Jean Paul Valley as well as Tim Drake. One big change in adapting the comic is Bane's reason for coming to Gotham and it won't be like the comic where he had the visions. Chris Covers Comics YouTube, 40:37 mark
