Jimmy Olsen started at the Daily Planet as a photographer. He began working alongside his two favorite co-workers, Lois Lane and Clark Kent. Despite Lane's reputation as a daredevil reporter, Olsen was the only photographer that continued to work with her. Like clockwork, Superman began to save Olsen from a range of embarrassing to life threatening events. Eventually, he invented a signal watch to help alert Superman and get himself out of a bind.
For two years in a row, Olsen was voted "Worst Dressed Man in Metropolis" by the public. To his defense, Olsen was participating in the Homeless Olympics, to which he won the Bronze Medal, and often works undercover on sting operations for the police. Perry White recently gave him a column in the Sunday edition, "For A Day," in which he would trade places with local celebrities for a day. The column surprisingly boosted circulation. Olsen believed it had something to do with his offbeam factoids.
