General Lane, of the U.S. Army, is the father of of Lois and Lucy Lane. Of the former, Lane maintains an awkward relationship because he desired a son as his oldest child. He is currently assigned to the Pentagon and oversaw Lex Luthor when the criminal was recruited by the government. When Lane learned Luthor was still trying to kill Superman again, Lane had him re-arrested.
