Stryker's Island is located off the coast of Metropolis. It eventually became Stryker's Island Penitentiary, the city's largest prison facility dedicated to imprisoning the craziest gangsters of Metropolis in the 1930s. Surrounded by water, escape is a difficult venture. Today, it is home to 140 deranged and deformed super criminals.
Currently, Lex Luthor, Metallo, and Parasite are incarcerated on the island. During an interview with Clark Kent, Luthor was attacked by Parasite. During the confusion, Kent rescued the prison guards and dealt with a riot. Luthor was unaware of Superman's aid and led Kent to a secret escape route where his niece, Nasty was waiting. On the day of his execution, by electric chair, Luthor survived due to ingesting a Super Serum. He escaped Stryker's and liberated its prisoners on Metropolis as he prepared to take over the world.
