The Super Serum is an invention of Superman, super powers in liquid form. By synthesizing alien chemicals, Superman perfected new exo-genes that allow a human being to duplicate his super powers for 24 hours without his weakness to Kryptonite and red sun radiation. The fumes generated during the preparation of the serum causes visual distortions and extreme paranoid reactions if inhaled by human beings. Superman gave the serum to Lois Lane for her birthday.
However, Solaris hacked into Robot 7, stole the formula, and sent it to Lex Luthor. He created two vials of the Super Serum and set off to conquer the world. Superman used the Gravity Gun to neutralize the effects of the first vial and destroyed the second. Feeling repentant, Luthor reverse engineered Superman's genetic code from the Super Serum and figured out how to replicate him and gave the information to Dr. Quintum, of the DNA P.R.O.J.E.C.T., days before his execution.
