July 24, 2010: The series will be helmed by James Tucker, in CGI, and radically different in tone compared to Batman: The Brave and The Bold. The Batman Universe Video Interview
August 18, 2011: Coran Stone was selected by James Tucker to be Character Designer. Stone did designs for four to five months. One of the heads at Cartoon Network felt the concept was too dark and scrapped it. July 11, 2013: Mitch Watson reveals there was a second pitch before the final version of Beware The Batman was greenlit. It was a light-hearted Superman/Batman show that focused on Batman and Superman in their 20s and early on in their careers. Clark Kent was a trainee reporter coming to Gotham City and he meets Bruce Wayne. Clark and Bruce become friends, but Batman and Superman hate each other. November 5, 2017: Mitch Watson reveals the light-hearted Superman/Batman show involves Bruce and Clark meeting, ending up in jail after a bar fight, and then the duo living in Bruce's high rise penthouse. Wonder Woman was also supposed to show up and be in the same city, some relationship was going to occur between the trio, and was basically described as being partly inspired by Gossip Girl. October 4, 2011: Set for 2013, CGI animated, Glen Murakami is the Executive Producer, a classic-looking Batman teamed up with a gun-toting Alfred Pennyworth and Katana. Show will explore the mythology's more obscure villains like Professor Pyg and Mr. Toad along with some of the more well-known ones. Katana is not a replacement for Robin. January 17, 2012: Kurtwood Smith is voicing James Gordon. Smith reveals the first two episodes were recorded before Christmas. Gordon is still a Lieutenant, it is early in the Batman story, Gordon doesn't trust Batman, they help each other on an early case, and the relationship between Batman and Alfred is also still developing. July 27, 2012: In response to the Aurora tragedy, producers were asked by Warner Bros Animation executive VP Sam Register to scrutinize depictions of weapons and an unspecified number of alterations were made to some designs and situations to minimize the amount of weapon imagery deemed too realistic, such as changing the shape of gun barrels from round to square for the purpose of rendering the weapons in a more stylized manner reminiscent of sci-fi fare. November 7, 2019: Glenn Wong posts Simon Stagg design. In the early stages, they were still doing T-poses but that fell to the wayside very quickly. Overseas animation build models using a traditional standing pose. Wong originally colored Simon in purple but Glen Murakami went with light green. Since he worked with Murakami on Ben 10: Alienforce, Wong would drop rough color onto models to help see if the color breaks were working.
